Virtual Coaching

I (Lexi) offer coaching through virtual platforms so I can reach more equine owners through mindful instruction at their home with their horse. Owners can conveniently improve their horsemanship through gaining mindful guidance at home. These virtual lessons last 40 minutes and can be as technically inclined as the rider prefers! I have even seen people bungee their phone up on a post to gain stability for video, even though the Pivo system is hands down superior!

Who benefits from virtual coaching?

Horse owners who need any sort of helping hand through riding or groundwork will benefit! Those who are a distance away from getting in person coaching and those who truly cannot or prefer not haul their horse for lessons benefit substantially. The convenience is very nice, especially when we can take a quick video of ourselves (or ask a friend to help) or video chat during a call to work on climbing our horsemanship ladder in the comfort of our own stable.

In order for horse owners to benefit from virtual coaching, they must know their limitations. Virtual coaching of any kind is not suggested for beginners and junior riders should also be supervised by an adult for safety.

Do I need anything special to participate?

Common fool-proof practices are the inclusion of the Pivo, wireless headphones, and a tripod (affiliate links attached) with a cell phone. The Pivo and the Pivo+ app auto tracks your horse and camera controls can be given to your instructor to maintain their needed view. Regardless of using fancy technology or simply setting your phone on a fencepost and staying in frame, the two things you must have for a virtual lesson is internet speed and long range wireless earbuds to connect the call.

How to I set up a virtual lesson?

Everyone’s availability varies, so all you have to do is reach out to me to schedule any type of lesson! If we have never worked together, I encourage you to schedule a time to chat with me regarding needs, goals, abilities, etc. so I can best assist you and meet you where you are on your horsemanship ladder.

There are two options regarding virtual lesson types, real-time and third person. Real-time coaching can be through Pivo, FaceTime, or Zoom while you wear wireless earbuds to connect the call. Third person will require you to shoot 10-15 minutes of video containing you performing actions you need coaching on and uploading it privately onto YouTube for me to review, then scheduling a zoom call for us to review together.

If you have any questions, please reach out, I am always happy to assist!
